How To Make Your Feet Soft

Cracked heels are not only bothersome but also painful. You know that walking around in cracked heels is a complete no-no. So you keep trying new ways to hide your feet, and the more you hide them, the more uncomfortable you feel.

Cracked feet can be the result of dehydration, poor nutrition, and wearing the wrong shoes. It’s always best to start taking precautions before your heels crack and eventually lead to pain and bleeding.

We know almost all of the normal home pedicure tips. Now let’s talk about some foot care tips other than a routine pedicure.

Below are some simple daily foot care tips that you can always adopt to cure cracked feet and achieve smooth, flawless feet. Here are some of these remedies –

Use Baking Soda

Here we need the most common ingredient in cooking!

  • Add two tablespoons of baking soda in lukewarm water
  • Soak your feet in the liquid for about half an hour.
  • For maximum benefit, you can add bath salts to it. Bath salt is readily available in the market and helps soften the skin and relieve the muscles.
  • Repeat it regularly!

The Magic Of Banana

Banana is a tropical fruit that boasts of a number of health benefits. It even helps heal super cracked feet without any hassle.

  • Whisk a ripe banana in a blender
  • Apply the paste evenly on your feet.
  • Leave to dry for 10 minutes then rinse with lukewarm water.
  • Try this remedy once a week and get the desired result.

Daily Cleaning Regime

Following a strict diet to clean the feet regularly is very important. It will prevent the accumulation of dead skin and protect your skin from drying out and flaking. All you need to do is follow a simple procedure every night before going to sleep.

  • Just add a little salt in lukewarm water
  • Soak your feet in it for 10 minutes.
  • Once you’re done, pat them dry and follow up with a good moisturizer.
  • Wearing socks while sleeping will help lock in moisture.

Wonder Of Olive Oil

Olive oil is a great moisturizer, especially for dry skin.

  • The easiest way is to soak a cotton ball in olive oil and apply it on the affected areas.
  • Gently massage in circular motions and once you have completed the massage,
  • wear a pair of socks and let your skin absorb the oil. Rinse your feet after an hour.
  • For maximum benefit, leave the oil on the skin overnight and wash it off the next morning.

Use Vinegar

  • Prepare a hot bath at home by adding apple cider vinegar to it and treat the ugly, dry cracks on your heels!
  • You can also add two drops of dish soap to the liquid for best results.

Try Peppermint Oil

Apply a little peppermint oil to your cracked heels every day before going to bed.

The antiseptic properties present in the oil will not only kill germs and bacteria, but will also prevent you from contracting infections. It will also reduce the pain.

It is one of the easiest home remedies to cure cracked feet.

Treat It With Honey

Honey has many healing properties and is a great product for the skin.

  • Add a cup of raw honey to a bucket of lukewarm water.
  • Dip your feet in this bucket.
  • Repeat this every day for about 10 to 15 minutes and say goodbye to drought.

Soak Feet In Lukewarm Water

  • Once or twice a week, soak your feet in lukewarm water diluted with two tablespoons of sea salt for about 20 minutes.
  • Then, scrape off the dead cells with a gentle foot scrub or pumice stone.

Clean The Dirt Using Cleaning Needle

  • Take a dirt cleaning needle for the feet or you can also use the opposite end of a blackhead remover to clean all the dirt from the sides of the nails, especially the thumbs.
  • Be very careful not to prick the inside of your fingernails.
  • You can also use the pointed end of a stainless steel nail pad.
  • Avoid rusty dirt cleaning needles and always use clean, stainless steel needles. This protects you from any fungal infection.

Remove Hangnails

  • Scrape and remove nails or dead skin hanging down the sides using cuticle remover.
  • Just glide gently over the hanging skin in the opposite direction.
  • You don’t necessarily push the cuticles here. Personally, I don’t prefer to push back cuticles (that’s my choice), but I do scratch sagging skin.

Trim Toenails Regularly

Trim toenails at least once every two weeks. Wearing long fingernails is not very hygienic, stylish, or even safe. If they last too long, dirt will accumulate on them. In addition, it is also possible that they will break and come off with live skin.

Buff Toenails

Polish the toenails as you can. It is as important as polishing your nails. Remember to polish and shine your toenails as they need the same care as your fingernails.

Keep Feet Dry

If your feet are sweating and giving off a bad odor, or if you have to wear shoes at work that don’t let air through, dab a little talcum powder on the inside of the shoes (if you are wearing barefoot shoes) or pull on the underside of your feet (if wearing a sock). It will absorb the sweat and also eliminate the stench. You can also rub two drops of pure sandalwood, lavender, or chamomile oil on your feet before putting on your shoes.
